We Are Camerlook
The Capital District Cameroonian Association of New York — uniting our community, preserving our culture, and building lasting connections.
Our Story
The Cameroonian diaspora in New York's Capital District has grown steadily over the years. As more Cameroonians settled in the Albany, Schenectady, Troy, and surrounding areas, the need for a community organization that could bring people together became clear.
That's how CDC-NY — the Capital District Cameroonian Association of New York, affectionately known as Camerlook — was born. Our name reflects our roots: “Camer” for Cameroon, and “look” as an invitation to see, connect, and belong.
We are a community of families, professionals, students, and friends united by our love for Cameroon and our commitment to supporting one another in our new home. Through cultural events, community support programs, and social gatherings, we keep the spirit of Cameroon alive while embracing the opportunities and diversity of New York.
Whether you're a newcomer looking to connect or a long-time resident wanting to give back, Camerlook is your home away from home. Welcome to the family.
